Philippines Tourist Spot's in Cebu

Cebu is the third best island in Asia. It is an island in central Philippines with Cebu City as its capital. The island is long and thin with a few smaller islands off-shore. The airport is located on the flat island of Mactan which is separated from the main island by the narrow Mactan Channel. Cebu City is one of the main centres of commerce, trade and industry in the Visayas and Mindanao region of the country. Because of this and other important aspects that Cebu City was given the moniker Queen City of the South.

Cebu's famous crossFor local and foreign tourist, there
are a lot of  places in Cebu that capture one's interest. One is “Magellan's Cross” which was named after Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer who came to Cebu in the early 1500s. Pieces of the original cross are believed to be encased in the present cross.  It used to be the only Catholic Basilica in East Asia. The basilica houses the famous “Santo Niño” the patron saint of the Cebuanos.Cebu city plaza

Another place to see is the Spanish “Fort San Pedro” which is where the Lapu-lapu shrine is (Punta Engaño) it is also where the Battle of Mactan took place.

The “Taoist Temple” is also a good place to drop by. One can see the entire city on top of the hill. Then rent a cab to “The Top” a small park on top of a mountain where one can spend a few hours while having a drink or two. During sunset and at night you can see glowing lights from the buildings and houses below the mountain.

Bohol: The Little Island Paradise in Philippines Tourist Spot

Bohol is one of the loveliest islands of the Philippines. It is full of diverse wildlife and lush green forests as well as blue beaches. A popular attraction in this province is the world renowned Chocolate Hills. This tourist spot is composed of more than 1,200 perfect cone shape hills, which are, unusually, all the same size! The name Chocolate Hills was derived from the color of the hills. During the summer the green grass that covers the hills turns brown.

There are also numerous mounds of limestone formation. Panglao Island, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is famous for its diving locations and routinely listed as one of the top ten diving locations in the world. Numerous tourist resorts dot the southern beaches and cater to divers from around the world. The Philippine Tarsier, considered the second-smallest primate in the world, is indigenous to the island.

The true attraction here is that these lush green and brown hills are not manmade, but are, in fact, a masterpiece of nature! However, there are more reasons why one should visit Bohol. The many activities and places to see is enough to make visitors see the place as a sanctuary for a lot of nature's beauty.

The Most Popular Beach in Philippines Tourist Spot

Boracay Island is famous for its white sand beach, and also for the coral reefs and the sea creatures. It is an island of the Philippines located approximately 315 km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. The island comprises the barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak (3 of the 17 barangays which make up the municipality of Malay), and is under the administrative control of the Philippine Tourism Authority in coordination with the Provincial Government of Aklan. In 1990, it was voted by the BMW Tropical Beach Handbook as one of the best beaches in the world and again in 1996 by British publication TV Quick as the world's number one tropical beach. Last Year, Yahoo announced that Boracay Beach is the most popular beach all over the world and the 7th best beach among beaches.

There is a beautiful beach on the west coast with very fine white sand, particularly near Balabag. The water is quite shallow, however. For snorkeling the east coast is better but beware of rips. There are scores of little sandy bays scattered around the island; they make an attractive alternative to the ever-popular White Beach.

Every day seems to be a holiday on Boracay - all you need to do is relax and enjoy yourself.   Just get

up, make some coffee and decide whether to go sailing, windsurfing or perhaps snorkeling and looking at corals. If you're curious you may get as far as the Caves of the Flying Dogs of Yapak' or Bat Caves (admission P20) on the other side of the island, where there are still fishermen who have nothing to do with tourism, except that they too have to pay higher prices in the stores.
